Packages through the mail #3

Today I went to the post office and finally got my package from AP international website. It took them about 1-2 weeks to ship the package, but my guess is that it was because of the Holidays.

Here is the package as it was. It's only a big AP bag wrapped in a lot of tape and papers.

I had to rip it to open it. But fortunately they always give an AP bag inside and a sticker too. So this is what was inside:

The pony bag, the dramatic fur collar and the pony ring. Let's take a look at the collar first.

While it looks very cute, it is fragile. The pin broke on my first try to put it on. Fortunately it was easy to repair. But I'm quite disappointed to have paid that much for something so fragile and hard to put on. Only a really small pin keeps the 2 sides together and they were always falling apart when I tried to pin the bow back on it after putting it around my neck. But overall it is still cute, and my other items are much better!

Here is the big piece of my order. The pony bag in pink colorway! It's my second bag from AP, the first one being the Milky-chan plush bag. It's nice to have a brand bag that is not a plush, so I'm quite happy with my purchase.

The bag is very cute and sturdy. It is small but can still contain some essential items like a wallet and a phone. The is a star on the strap and the zip is also a small gold star.

And finally, here is a close-up of the ring. I ordered the lavender colourway since the pink was sold out and I thought that lavender would go well with my pink bag and my wardrobe.

The ring is, of course, really cute. I like the little stones, it gives an extra sparkle to the accessory that I find beautiful.

I don't think I will order again this month from AP since brand bought directly from the website is always really expensive and I have an anime convention soon so I need to keep my savings for then. I did buy a star clip and brand socks from sellers on EGL though and I should receive them soon.

Thanks for reading!

Cosplay Channel

I have a little announcement to make, even though it has nothing to do with lolita.
As a person I really like cosplaying and of course having fun. So my friend and I started a cosplay channel and uploaded our first video tonight. For now we only cosplay Kuroshitsuji characters since we don't have any other cosplay in common.

If you would like to take a look, here is the link to the video:

Next post will be about lolita again. I have a package that was supposed to arrive tpday but since I was working it ended up at the post office. I'll go get it tomorrow and show you what was inside!

Packages through the mail #2

So today when I came back from work at night, there was a big box waiting in front of my door, alone in the cold.

I was so happy to see it! It was a pretty rough day and receiving that dress today was the best thing that could happen!

So let's see what was inside!

I love receiving AP bags, I collect them!

So I finally got the Vanilla-chan set in black! I'm so happy!

Again, it is a perfect fit! Another dress that wasn't supposed to suit me according to HelloLace. Well, for something that was supposed to be way too small for me I feel really comfortable in it! Please excuse my ugly hair on the picture, I just came back from work and walked 20 minutes in the cold and wind >.<

Side view of the dress and socks.

That's it for this package! Next one will be coming directly from the AP online store! It is not shipped yet but should be here this week or at the beginning of the next one.
Thanks a lot for reading, I hope you are enjoying my blog so far!
See you soon!

Lolita Styles : Classic lolita

The second style I want to talk about is classic. It is not my style, but I'll try my best to describe it accurately.

The classic style could be described as the most sober lolita style. It is greatly inspired by the victorian era. The colors are more toned down then sweet and more colorful than gothic lolita. It is a very elegant style that I find easier to wear in public than others. There are a few brands that mostly produce classic lolita clothes, mainly Innocent World, Victorian Maiden, Julliette et Justine, Mary Magdalene, Atelier Pierrot and some more that are not specialized in classic.

The colors you can mostly find in classic are brown, olive green, wine red, black, beige/cream, white, etc. It is rare that you'll find pastel colors in classic lolita.

The patterns that come back often in classic are flowers, lines, old toys/rooms, keys, crowns, vintage items, etc. Often, there won't even be any pattern on the dress.

Accessories are important in every lolita styles. In classic, the headwear is more toned down. The bows are not as big and head eating as in the sweet style. But the bonnets, even if they are quite extravagant, are popular to wear with classic since they were worn in the victorian era. Berets and hats are also a good match with the style.

You don't necessarily need to put lots of jewelry and accessories on your hands or wrists in classic. A gold or silver bracelet/necklace and classic and elegant gloves are often used to make good coordinates. Some also add a brooch or flower accessories to complete the look. Cameos are a part of the classic style too.

As for the purses and bags, they are quite simple in design (with some exceptions). But one in particular consists of a book transformed into a purse, which I find original. The others only have some bows and are often bown, cream or black.

The socks in the classic style often are plain or have some patterns similar to the dresses like flowers, crowns, keys, bows, etc.

Lastly, let,s take a look at the shoes commonly worn in classic. To be honest, some are the same as in sweet. but in sober colors to match the style. Any shoes that looks a bit vintage and/or elegant can do the trick perfectly.

I hope this was good enough to explain the style correctly. I'm not really a classic lolita but I did own some dresses a while ago. I have some dresses again on my wishlist but since I'm a sweet lolita I'd have to buy different accessories to match this style. But one of my goal would be to have a bit of each style in my wardrobe. I don't want to always the same style, it's a good thing to change from time to time.

Next style should be gothic lolita!
I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Day! I wish the best for all of you in 2012!

Meeting: Lolita Tea Party winter 2011

So on the 29th of this December I went to a tea party with some of my lolita friends from the Qc-harajuku community. It was a lot of fun!

Here was my coord for the afternoon.

It's not very elaborated since I only had 15 minutes to dress up and put some make-up on. I needed to go get my new pet, a little cute baby chinchilla and it was right before the meeting. But even without the best of coords, I was very happy to be able to wear out my brand new dream dress! I also received it just before I went to get my chinchilla. What a wonderful, but busy day!

We went to a small restaurant in Montréal specialized in sweets and teas, it is called Nocochi I believe. It was quite busy at the beginning but soon we were the only ones left in the restaurant, which was great because we could talk more calmly without all the noise around.

Note: Most of the pictures were taken by a fellow loli from the meeting (the one dressed in a white jsk from Fanplusfriend). I do not own them. Mine were all blurred so I couldn't really use them.

The girl who is taking the picture made each of us cute headbows, it was a really nice gift. I'm wearing mine on this picture.

The food was really good, even though the quantity was little. But after tasting the first pastries, I can understand they preferred quality over quantity.

The cupcake we all got was very yummy and made with real whip cream... omnomnom.

After we were done eating and talking, we decided to take some pictures. The waitress helped use take some of them so we could be all together in a group picture at some point.

We decided to take a wonderful group picture at the very end of the meeting. It turned out pretty well! The waitress did a great job with this one.We decided to position ourselves according to height... you can guess I was the tallest loli that afternoon! It reminded me of when we were in Elementary school and had to take that position to go inside the school after each breaks.

Thus, the tea party ended. I was asked if I wanted a lift, which was really kind and I appreciated not being alone to return home. Overall I enjoyed this meeting and I found it was nice to have smaller meetings from time to time so we got more time to know each other and no one was left alone.

Thank you for the nice tea party!
